Since September 1, 1995 I'm working as a PhD student at the Department of Educational Instrumentation of the Faculty of Educational Science and Technology of the University Of Twente, and I'm investigating the role of learning styles and cooperative learning while using concept-mapping tools.
See my Concept Mapping Homepage
I have a personal page that lists my research at the ICO site.
I was born in 1969 in Wageningen. I studied Educational Science and Technology and graduated in 1993 with the department of Educational Instrumentation on the subject of 'Visual Aspects of Cultural Portability of Educational Software'. For my graduation assignment I did my investigations at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (Sofia, Bulgaria) and the Egyptian Ministery of Education (Cairo, Egypt).
After this I wrote project proposals for a while for the National Institute for Curriculum Development (SLO)/Educaplan. After that I did my civil service with the Ministery of Transport, Public Works and Water Management (V&W)/RWS Utrecht where I worked on the stimulation of Transport management and alternatives for automotive commuting. Before starting as a PhD candidate in 1995 I did a study for the Scientific Technical Council of SURF (a cooperation of computer centres of Universities and Higher Educational Institutes in the Netherlands) into the implementation of Information Technology in Higher Professional Education, and have done several missions to Bulgaria and Slowakia within European Union Temupus programmes.
